Khotan votive figurine

This is a tiny votive figure, 3 cm tall, a red burnt pottery. Distinctive pattern on his back, extensive wear and missing parts.

Musee Guimet has similar figures labelled Khotan (Hetien), 2 – 3 centuries, Xinjiang. Around the time Buddhism came to this region, but no evidence this piece is linked to Buddhism.
