I acquired these lovely Tang dynasty glazed animals separate. One is a pig or boar, and the other a duck.
The pig is 13,5 cm. long, and made from a white pottery covered in a brown lead glaze. There is a smudge of green on one eye, and one front leg has some damage.
The duck is 5,5 by 5,6 cm. and from a more porous pottery. It is also covered in brown and yellow lead glaze. It has an old collection label of unknown origin.
sometimes these Tang glazed little gems turn up for an amazing price, and I cannot resist them.
