A Longquan Chrysanthemum shaped brushwasher, Yuan / early Ming. A lovely olive green glaze, signs of wear and age, but great condition. 12 cm in diameter, quite lightly potted. These brushwashers were made from the Song till the Ming dynasty, so exact dating is difficult. The shape is also referred to as bamboo node or sugar cane shape. A similar brushwasher is seen in the Mak.Frankfurt, and a similar shaped one in the Metropolitan museum with a superior glaze.
