This sturdy pottery flask is from a grey pottery that is typical for the Han dynasty. It is a burial item,and represents a pilgrim’s bottle.
The interesting thing is that this shape can not be from a potter’s wheel,so it is hand built. It is very well done, on not very thick walled.
The result is a fine piece of pottery, with sculptural qualities.
Nice signs of age like root markings, and soil encrustation.
